Black in AI Safety and Ethics (BASE) exists to increase Black representation and leadership in the fields of AI safety, Governance, and Security. Our mission is to cultivate Black talent in AI safety and Governance through selective training, mentored research, and long-term institutional support. We are building the pipeline, research capacity, and community needed to shape the future of safe and responsible AI.

BASE Research Fellowship (Black in AI Safety and Ethics) is building a global pipeline of Black talent in the fields of AI alignment, governance, and security. Our goal is to ensure Black people across the globe are empowered to shape and contribute to the development of safe, equitable, and human-centered AI systems.
We’re seeking experienced professionals across technical AI safety, infosec, and governance who can help streamline fellow development through research mentorship
