OUR Mission
ABOUT
Black in AI Safety and Ethics (BASE) builds a pipeline of Black researchers and professionals into AI safety, governance, security, and responsible AI. Through fellowships, a community of practice, and a research arm, we identify, train, support, and place emerging talent in high-impact opportunities that reduce catastrophic AI risks, address gradual disempowerment, and shape the development and governance of advanced AI systems.

Fall 2026 CALL FOR MENTORS
BASE Research Fellowship is building a global pipeline of Black talent in AI alignment, governance, security, and responsible AI. We train and mentor emerging researchers and professionals to contribute to the development of advanced AI systems that are safe, equitable, human-centered, and resilient against catastrophic risks.
We’re seeking experienced professionals in AI safety, AI Security, AI governance, and responsible AI to mentor fellows and support their research and development.
