ABOUT

BASE builds a pipeline of Black researchers and professionals into AI safety, governance, security, and ethics through a fellowship, community of practice, and research arm. We train and place fellows in that opportunities that reduce catastrophic risks and address gradual disempowerment, while ensuring that the global majority is represented in decisions that shape advanced AI systems.

BASE Research Fellowship (Black in AI Safety and Ethics) is building a global pipeline of Black talent in the fields of AI alignment, governance, and security. Our goal is to ensure Black people across the globe are empowered to shape and contribute to the development of safe, equitable, and human-centered AI systems.
